Hello everyone, I’m currently on vacation! Whoopie! And you know what vacation means when you are freelance? It means you catch up on editing photos and blogging! ;-) It’s ok though, when you love your job you don’t mind putting in a few hours a day on the vacation. I’m currently in Siracusa, Italy on Island of Sicily. It’s absolutely gorgeous here and I will try and do a post to share some of the photos that I have taken here.
Sherry and John were dream clients and SO. MUCH. FUN. to work with. I met them at the beautiful Palais de la Mediterranean on the Promenade des Anglais and we took an uber to the the gorgeous Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. This is an epic venue on the French Riviera that has become a hot spot for weddings. In fact, Sherry and John had gotten married at the venue with the help of the lovely Monica from Haute Weddings just a year before. Monica is a fellow American working in France and I actually met her in Italy several years ago at a wedding conference. If you are looking for a wedding planner that specializes in the Alpes as well as the French Riviera I would definitely contact her. The couple had nothing but good things to say about their experience with her.
So Sherry and John had been keeping a pretty big secret from their family and friends, they were expecting!! What better way to announce to the world than a photoshoot on your anniversary in the very spot that you said “I do”. I love shooting baby bump and maternity shoots. They are filled with this incredible energy. I mean, as a couple you are really about to jump from the plane. Hope you packed your parachute.
The Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is as fancy as its name sounds. I have shoot here many times and you may remember this stunning surprise proposal I shot here. The villa is located in St. Jean Cap Ferrat. This is one of those rich and famous hot spots that many people think about when the French Riviera comes to mind. For me, I’m not worried about dining with Penelope Cruz (who I once bumped into at the Four Seasons), what I really love is the way the preserved the village. I have done quite a few shoots here this past season so keep an eye on the blog and I will be posting those shortly (goodbye, vacation).
After we wandered the stunning gardens of the villa we headed back into Nice for a quick change and a walk around the famous Cours Saleya (or Flower Market as it’s often called). If you follow my blog at all you know that I shoot here often. You can check out other photos I have taken in Nice here and here.
